About My Work:
Since I have become an artist, I have had to overcome a bunch of obstacles. Over the course of this year so far I have been able to learn and work on improving my skills of becoming an artist. I have definitely learned and experienced a lot more since last December. This being said, I have definitely found a way around the obstacles thrown my way. Since doing this project I have learned that I am not the best at drawing but I persevered through and I am not mad at the end result. Doing this project, drawing, has been out of my comfort zone but I decided to not give up on it. So looking at my art now you would not have known that I was very nervous to start the drawing process. This is because I had never done a big project like this before. I found these projects fun to work on because I got to draw things I thought were unique and did not have to be told what to draw. Having the freedom to focus on something I am interested in really helped in the creative process of making this. But just because I have a project I have thrived in does not mean I thrive in everything. That being said I had really struggled with the medium to choose because I was good at painting and photography before so trying something new was totally different from what I had done. I found the drawing hard to do because I have only done it a couple of times, and I found myself getting frustrated that I could not do it as well as I had thought. In the end the drawing project had just taught me how to be patient and to trust the process. If I were to change one thing about my project I would probably change the art medium and do paintings instead of drawings. Otherwise I think Phobophobia Displayed is a great way that I can show my understanding of how fears affect humans.
